It’s been three years since I recorded the video for The Narcissist.
At the time, I felt ready. Ready to release it, ready to be seen, ready to stand behind what I’d created. It was the first song I ever recorded, and I thought it would be my first release.
It wasn’t—but that doesn’t change what it is.
That song holds such a massive part of my life. It’s where I started finding my voice. Saying things I hadn’t said before. Learning what it meant to hold accountability.
Becoming the person who could stand behind those words. That was so huge to me.
Going from being virtually silent in myself to a music artist. So transformative.
From holding it all in to having something real, something finished, something I could point to and say, this is mine.
That was three years ago this Easter. Done and ready to go.
And I was too, in my own way.
